When Claire Le Noyer ends up going to Paris to settle an estate for her father, she looks forward to seeing France again and Adrien, her long-time friend. She’d had a crush on him years ago, but it’s been over ten years since she’s seen him. Gradually, Adrien changes her from the drab accountant she was and gives her a brighter outlook. She realizes her crush hasn’t vanished and has probably deepened, but she’s convinced a man like Adrien could never love someone like her. Yet, she’s been wrong about so many things. Could she be wrong about this, too?

I didn’t like the first person point of view and the over-describing almost everything - clothes, buildings, rooms, streets, art, etc. It took over twenty pages to describe Claire going out to get baguettes for breakfast. The author seemed to be showing off how well she knew Paris, but a taste to give me the flavor would have been better than the gluttonous food being stuffed down me. All this make the book cumbersome and boring when, if it had been trimmed, there was a good story, but it was hidden and overshadowed. It also had some crude language, like "f*arts" and "wh*ore" used more than once. As it was, the ending didn’t make it worth wading through the verbiage or my time.

If you've always dreamed of going to Paris, planning a trip, or have been there and would like to go again, Kissing Adrien is the perfect book for you.

I didn't have a clue that the book would be as spectacular as it was. Using story world, Siri took me through the city streets of Paris, to all the famous and not as well know places to see, we ate meals, and her characters taught me French. Magnifique!

As an added bonus, Siri has a tab dedicated to helping us fledglings decide what to do while in Paris on her website She gives tips what to avoid and how to get to the shorter lines. Here is the link for this great tab Siri's Tips for Travel in Paris

In Kissing Adrien, Claire has made a simple life in Seattle, working many hours to pay her bills on time. Her wardrobe is comfortable, nothing fancy and her pastor boyfriend treats her like a piece of furniture. Isn't this how everyone lives?

So life seems until Claire's parents send her to Paris to check out an apartment left to their family by a cousin, a cousin with many secrets. Arriving during the holiday season, Claire stays with friends of her family--renewing a friendship with the handsome, flirtatious, and French-culture savvy Adrien while solving the mysteries surrounding her cousin.

Adrien stays in Paris during his vacation to show Claire not only the sights, but also fashion and the French way of life. He shows her a lifestyle that allows two hour lunch breaks and longer holidays. One is to enjoy this life rather than living a job.

I highly recommend this delightful book. Take a trip to Paris as you turn the pages!
A sweet, gentle and quirky romance.

When her French-American father finds himself unable to travel due to a serious back injury, 29-year-old Claire agrees to go to Paris on his behalf to help dispose of the estate of a recently deceased distant relative. In Paris she is met by childhood friend Adrien. This 34-year old Frenchman, who tells her he has become a Christian since the last time they met, now helps her find her way around town, takes her to restaurants, museums, open-air markets and his English-language church, and generally alternates between entertaining her and making a nuisance of himself...or so she would like to believe. Claire had a crush on Adrien when she was 17. Now she doesn't know what to think. When he tells her he has been waiting 10 years for her to return to France, that his heart has missed her all this time, just how serious is he? And as she begins to realize she does not want her life for the next 5 years to be the same as it has been for the past 5 years, will Adrien's influence have anything to do with the changes she must make?

Basically, the "sexual content" in this book (aside from the occasional kiss, hug, hand-holding...) is Claire's frequent references to her less-than-voluptuous figure, and the fancy French lingerie she is persuaded to buy (along with an entire new wardrobe of outerwear--a fun part of the book) as she wrestles with learning to value her own beauty, and herself as a valuable and much loved person in the eyes of God and other people.
